2022 is now well and truly under way and major brands are starting to reveal their new campaigns for the year. So, what’s coming up in the world of design? We sat down with our Creative Design team to reveal all…
Back to the 90s
Old and retro is cool, didn’t you know? While the 1980s nostalgia trend has been around for a while now, the world has moved on and 90s is officially the new 80s. Think abstract shapes on a background of vibrant colours, alongside fonts that remind you of MTV’s prime years and you’ve got this year’s major trend in a nutshell.
Anti-Design
No design is going to be THE design this year. Think a graphic designer’s answer to paint splatter art and an ‘anything goes’ attitude. We admit, we’re on the fence with this one but we’re happy to be proved wrong!
Simplified logos
Dialling down the design is on the way up in 2022. An opposite to anti-design and 90s nostalgia, simplifying a brand maybe more suited for B2B businesses who want to appear more striking and professional. We find a strong use of colour and minimal design are far more memorable anyway!
Brands on the move
Static graphics won’t cut it, your design better move. Motion graphics are huge now and we’re big fans. A great example is Mail Chimp. Their recent campaign has stood out to us as something we’ll see brands follow this year. It combines motion graphics with cool 90s nostalgia. Everything graphic design should be in 2022!
NFTs
NFT or Non-fungible tokens, have burst onto the scene as the world of graphic design meets the world of crypto currency. The buying and selling of digital art is gaining momentum and is something we predict to be huge over the next few years.
2022 is going to be an exciting year for graphic design! Do you want to keep on trend? Give the Entyce team a shout!
