Our work with Henllan Bakery
Family run since 1908, North Wales based Henllan Bakery as a long and enviable history of producing quality baked products. From bread to pasties, cakes to pies, Henllan are known throughout the North West and North Wales, and now export across the Atlantic to the USA and even as far as the Middle East.
The Henllan brand had gone through a period of significant product expansion since 2016. The company re-branded in 2016, transitioning from the name Henllan Bread to Henllan Bakery, to better reflect the brand’s ever-growing range of products. Their existing packaging for its products was relatively minimal, and did little to highlight the products on shelves.
Having partnered with a number of Welsh brands, including Llaeth Y Llan, Welsh Lady, Anglesey Sea Salt and Dwyfor, staying true to its heritage, the brand sought a design agency to revamp their packaging.
Having chosen Entyce to tackle this exciting packaging design project, our design team got to work on five new branded packaging for their new range of mini multi cakes: sticky toffee slices, coconut slices, lemon drizzles slices, salted caramel slices and coffee slices.
When designing, our aim was to enhance the already established and well-recognised Henllan brand but bring the cakes to life with bright colours and illustrations that clearly allowed consumers to identify product flavours at a glance.
The new designs were a huge hit with the Henllan team and were quickly put into production to showcase their tasty products. They were loved so much that Entyce was commissioned for further packaging design projects including, baps, pies and sausage rolls, single slice cakes and their new range of ‘cut off’ products that aim to reduce food waste.
