Twitter is testing a new design that focuses heavily on photos and content. With a large profile image the “new design” is certainly reminiscent of Facebook and Google Plus profile pages.
It is widely known that in the past Twitter has contemplated abandoning its traditional timeline and text heavy design in favour of a more visually appealing content rich layout.

Twitter often tests new design updates before rolling the changes out to the general public, so don’t be surprised when your twitter profile changes in the near future!
